Welcome to Dugout Dad Cards!
Hey there, fellow baseball fanatics and cardboard addicts! I’m just a guy in his early 50’s who never grew out of two things: my love for baseball and my obsession with collecting its shiny cardboard representations. From my own T-Ball days where my Dad coached first base wearing jeans while smoking a dart, to now coaching my own HS aged son who will be taking his hacks in college in a few years – baseball has been my constant.
And the cards? Oh man, I’ve been snagging them as far back as I can remember, and I still get that same rush opening a fresh pack. I don’t care about investment trends or flipping for profit – I’m here for the nostalgia, weird inserts and the players I love. From completing full base sets, chasing variation rainbows for my personal collection or scoring a sweet auto or relic card, it all brings me joy.
So whether you’re a fellow lifer or just dipping your toes into the hobby, grab some sunflower seeds, pull up a chair, and let’s talk cardboard!
Play ball (and rip some wax)!
